Simone Moro - Alpinist
MORE
It's the coldest place on earth. But on February 11th 2018, Tamara Lunger and Simone Moro completed its first-ever winter summit.
Standing 3003m tall, Gora Pobeda towers above the Mounts Cerskij Range in Siberia—the world's coldest inhabited region. Near the peak, Tamara and Simone undertook a technical steep mix climb, knowing a rescue would have been impossible if they fell.
Climbing in the warmest jacket The North Face has ever created, they summitted in just over 7 hours. In total, Tamara and Simone covered 27.3km and 2047mt elevation.

We had just 3 days of good blue sky weather throughout the whole expedition. In any case, the solitude and remote area showcased its astounding natural beauty

Tamara Lunger
When she was a 14-year old girl, she announced that one day she would climb an 8,000m mountain. She remained true to her word.
